Air Coordinator Job Description

 

The following comprises the duties and responsibilities of the Air Coordinator.

This position reports directly to the Air Department Manager.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • SABRE Red GDS system data entry of passenger air itineraries, seating assignment requests, frequent flyer numbers, program changes, transfers, etc.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of international and domestic air routings and fares.
  • Negotiate contract air fares in conjunction with our Travel Programs.
  • Quickly ascertain a passenger’s flight requests, identify appropriate flight combinations that meet the requirements of the Travel Program, finalize the transaction and confirm to the passenger.
  • Manage a high volume of calls for Program Departures assigned.
  • Ensure a high degree of accuracy is employed to meet the Travel Program requirements so that there are no errors affecting passenger travel arrangements.
  • Participate in Rotating Weekend Emergency Coverage for operating Travel Program Departures.
  • Miscellaneous Administrative work with our Travel Programs.

 

 Requirements

  • Proficiency in SABRE Red GDS system.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Professional and strong verbal communication.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and ability to follow through on projects/tasks.
  • Strong punctuality and reliability.
  • Honest and enthusiastic professional.
  • Well organized individual that is deadline oriented.
  • Comfortable with repetitive/routine work.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Adaptability – proficient at prioritizing multiple tasks simultaneously, as well as able to switch gears quickly and efficiently.
  • Must be able to type approximately 45 w.p.m. and enter a large amount of data quickly and accurately.
  • Team player, who is also able to work well independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook.
  • Willing to work outside of normal hours as needed.
