Job Description

ADTRAV's Director of Leisure Travel is an experienced travel professional with responsibility to successfully train, grow and manage the leisure travel FTE and IC counselor teams, including retail sales counselors located in Birmingham and Huntsville and the online sales portfolio. As a member of our management team, this individual will understand and manage the training and use of our consortium tools, marketing and selling processes. Hands-on use of Clientbase, Sabre and industry standard report analytics tools will be a daily part of this individuals workflow as they will be responsible to review the data and report to Vice President progress, make recommendations, improve and grow sales and revenue for the division. Develop and training the counselor team to qualify, curate and close digital media driven leads, follow up, build, track and sustain the hunter instinct defined by higher than industry standard close rates by their team. Manage Preferred Supplier training and compliance. Manage employee schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels and payroll entry oversight for each location. Conduct productivity reviews with FTEs and ICs. Thrive in new, evolving environments. Daily use and training for the teams of technology including MS suite (excel, word, outlook) sabre-including queue management, Clientbase database management-audit res cards, Trams, Signature marketing tools, Mitel telecom dashboard, etc. in a virtual environment). Interfacing on a regular basis with Counselors and Clients to proactively sell up, solve concerns and consistently achieve excellent customer satisfaction service scores and KPIs. Grow and expand the local/regional travel advisor employee and affiliate sales force.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Oversee the agents within agencies to ensure coverage for business operating hourscoordinating off-work schedules for vacations, personal/sick time, fam time, etc.
  • Become familiar with Human Resources policies regarding work schedules, overtime rules, performance improvement tools, progress reviews and incentive programs.
  • Monthly monitoring of sales activity at the agency and agent level, providing coaching where needed and congratulations where earned.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President to focus on key preferred suppliers, consortium opportunities and establish promotional objectives and plans, and ensure team is aware and prepared to support and benefit from these activities.
  • Be the primary advocate in the agency for consumer-facing lead programs such as TRCA, Signature marketing, Corporate portals, and others.
  • Liaison with the Management Team for adoption and use of ADTRAVs tools, training, programs and services, acting as a conduit and advocate for these programs with your agents.
  • Manage the relationships with any Independent Contractors (ICs)
  • Set the tone and example for exceptional customer service.
  • Attend manager meetings and conferences on an occasional basis.
  • Other duties as assigned per direct supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Critical thinking skills to resolve customer issues, employee issues, supplier-related challenges.
  • Proven success training, developing, implementing sales processes and systems, oversight and coaching techniques that ensure profitability targets are achieved.
  • Proficient in industry technology: MS suite (excel, word, outlook) Sabre Red-including queue management, Clientbase database management-build/audit res cards, Trams, Signature portal marketing tools, Mitel telecom, VM environment.
  • Retail and digital marketing campaign development, training, implementation and monitoring/managing to KPIs.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication and organizational skills with keep attention to detail-including multitasking. Ability to work under pressure and stick to internal time lines.
  • Successful candidates will possess six to ten years of industry and leadership experience with a proven track record of success.
