Expeditor ( FT & PT)
The Expeditor is responsible for prioritizing orders, pulling and packing orders, quality assurance, order completeness, appropriate packaging and labeling, delivery timing, miscellaneous procurement, and the overall compliance with ACES specifications associated with Air Chef/Air Culinaire orders. Additionally, the Expeditor will participate in the process of directly serving the Air Chef/Air Culinaire customers and obtaining feedback from them regarding our product and service, which they will relay to the Catering Director or General Manager. They will be an on-site problem solver in the event of situations arising that require immediate action, and the Expeditor will be provided the authority to make decisions to solve the problem following company procedures related to customer satisfaction, safety, and cost. Further responsibilities may include picking up supplies as needed in the course of business and routine vehicle & facility maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the General Manager or Catering Director, the Expeditor will be responsible for managing the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the final product that will be delivered to the appropriate location. At all times the employee is to conduct himself or herself in the utmost professional manner whether they are dealing with internal or external customers.
- Prioritize orders according to timing and location, create the delivery driving schedules and coordinate drivers for maximum efficiency.
- Pulling items and packing orders ensuring every order is prepared, packaged and delivered to customer requirements and satisfaction.
- Give final approval for quality and presentation, quality control customer invoice for accuracy and completeness, and add or check appropriate label has been affixed.
- Place orders in cold storage, determining appropriate food safety delivery packaging.
- Dispatching drivers and communicating with Customer Operations Desk with Driver departure and estimated arrival times.
- Safely operate company vehicles and drive in compliance with all local and federal laws and regulations.
- Dress professionally and within the guidelines of Company procedures including the company approved uniform.
- Understand and maintain quality control and safety procedures of food product during delivery.
Meet weekly with the Catering Director to ensure our standards and procedures are accurately reflected in their day-to-day operations.
All other duties as assigned by the Catering Director or General Manager
High School diploma is required, a college degree is preferred. Previous face-to-face customer service experience in the aviation, food services, or hospitality industry is essential. Individual must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills, as well as be proficient in email, internet use, and basic office software programs. Must possess a sense of urgency at all times and be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to details. Prior knowledge of aviation terminology preferred, FDA Regulations and safe food handling required. The Expeditor must have an excellent driving record, and be able to pass a FAA on-ramp security clearance and pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings.
