Job Description

The Hotel at the University of Maryland-College Park will open in July! Be a part of the opening team!

Duties and Responsibilities

* Manage a team of room attendants, house persons, and inspectors insuring that all standards are met each day

* Interview, hire, train, evaluate and coach the housekeeping team, resolving problems and recommending corrective actions as needed

* Arrange team work schedules, insuring staffing levels are based on occupancy and/or any current or anticipated projects

* Manage department payroll records insuring pay is accurate and on time

* Ensure guests have the best possible experience by trouble-shooting and resolving all housekeeping-related concerns

* Manage the department budget

* Maintain and review computerized records for budgeting and forecasting of department expenses as well as inspection scores for housekeeping team

* Orders supplies for the department based on forecasting for the monthly inventory

* Work collaboratively with other managers and teams to analyze and improve work processes

Education and Experience required

* 3-5 years hotel experience, preferably in a housekeeping environment

* Demonstrated supervisory experience

* High School Diploma or equivalent required

* Proficiency with MS Office

* Knowledge of/proficiency with Roommaster, Seriousware, Visual One, Delphi or similar hospitality software
