Position Summary:
Direct, supervise and coordinate operational Quality activities in the Single Aisle Flowline. Manage, motivate and develop the Quality team, including Lead Inspectors. Responsible to ensure the Airbus Quality Standards of the Aircraft, based on the defined inspection and regulations.
Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Flowline Quality Line Side team; Ensure the Level 3 qualification of inspection personnel is in accordance to the Airbus Qualification requirements
  • Ensure all EASA-POA regulatory requirements are implemented and used in the Flowline Product Quality and manufacturing organization
  • Validate that all technical inspections in the production process of the aircraft are carried out to the POA standards, inspection plans and attested
  • Risk mitigation of quality escapes endangering the aircraft built and/or product safety, launch of immediate corrective actions
  • Ensure with Operations the competence and qualification management of Operations and Quality Focal Point for the production delegated Inspectors
  • Ensure that the Aircraft production and the Final Operational Test (FOT) is in compliance with the Quality, cost and lead-time targets of the Final Assembly Line (FAL-USA)
  • Responsible Focal Point for all external EASA Audits
  • Define and implement work level processes based on the experience and recommendations from existing FAL operations. Identify opportunities and implement adaptations for local application of ideas
  • Conduct trainings for optimum performance in job procedures and methods of employees
  • Represent Flowline to departments within the FAL. Interface with departments to facilitate problem resolution and process improvement
  • Conduct periodic performance evaluations; make recommendations regarding personnel actions and collaborate with the Quality Manager in employee communications
  • Ensure that employees are in compliance with OSHA, safety and environmental regulations
  • Responsible for Continuous Improvement
  • Collaborate with the procurement function to ensure the acquisition of necessary consumable materials, tools and equipment
  • Plan and control workload of all assigned employees to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Provide efficient feedback analysis and trend to management
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements :
  • Minimum 5+ years' of supervisory experience in Aviation (Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Assembly Processes, Production method, etc.)
  • Ability to work in different production management systems
  • High degree of flexibility and initiative
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience as a member and leader of an international team
  • Work with the principles, practices, methods and tools used in aircraft manufacturing
  • Experience working with non-conformities and design query notes
  • Experience working with quality management systems
  • Knowledge of the Aircraft manufacturing process with strong emphasis on Structure/Mechanical/Paint tasks
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office & SAP
Education/Special Qualifications:
Bachelors' degree in Aeronautical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands :
  • Vision: Adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions
  • Hearing: Able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings. Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
  • Speaking: Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
  • Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment. Working on jigs at fuselage at a height of 15 feet. Able to work on hydraulic lifts sometimes at a height of up to 40 feet.
  • Carrying: Able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg while engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.
  • Lifting: Able to occasionally lift up to 20lbs/9kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Able to push/pull items in office areas.
  • Sitting: Able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: Able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves. Able to work outside hangers in changing locations. Able to work on movable lifts at the aircraft at a height of approximately 40 ft. Sometimes may work in a ventilated fuel tank with a mask in a confined space. Able to enter a with through a 9.8 by 17.7 inch oval opening.
  • Standing: Able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information.
  • Travel: Able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time.
  • Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
