EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Must be 18 years of age or older.
SUMMARY The Host position involves positive guest interaction; greeting, basic knowledge of food, food handling, menus, knowledge of sanitation practices, and knowledge of casino and restaurant promotions and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Greet and seat guests in a professional, prompt, courteous, and friendly manner.
  • Lap Napkins, present menus, and offer preliminary sell of nightly specials
  • Organize nightly reservations by confirming reservations including guest name, time of reservation, number of guests in the party, and table requirements using reservation software.
  • Control flow of reservations to the dining room so that servers are seated in rotation and not to overwhelm the operation by over seating.
  • Keep menus clean and in good condition, replacing worn or stained pages
  • Handle guests comments and concerns in a positive and professional manner while following policy and procedure
  • Properly notify your immediate supervisor, manager of any guest who appears intoxicated
  • Monitor dining area for cleanliness, maintaining a high quality standard for the appearance of the host stand, and general dining areas
  • Maintain sanitation, safety, security, and personnel policy standards at all times
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
  • Willingness to cross-train and provide support in related areas of operations.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
OTHER NECESSARY SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Must have excellent guest service and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude
  • Must be highly motivated, organized and able to multiple task
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, and be able to follow strict procedures.
  • Must possess the ability to work with various personalities while maintaining neutrality
  • Must respond to supervisory guidance and assignments and accept constructive criticisms in order to learn new, updated information
  • Must be a team player. Require crossed training for other positions in front/ back of the house as directed by management. Participate in on-going training sessions and staff meetings
  • In addition to section 2.7 GTB EDC Appearance and Dress code team member must comply to the following:
    • Must tie back hair longer than shoulder length, in a professional manner. (subject to management approval)
    • Must have on their person departmental issued implements to complete job functions in a proper manner. Examples include: ink pen that looks professional and writes well, properly
  • Must be the restaurants ambassador and be reflective in the refinement of fine dining.
  • Must present a professional, mature, and crisp image including conservative hairstyle, make-up, and dress.
    • Must wear a polish able dress type shoe approved by management (no athletic shoes will be permitted)
    • Must wear approved uniform or business attire as directed by the Bourbons 72 manager
    • Must not have a tongue ring in while working.
    • Hair color must be of natural tones and be styled appropriately.
    • Nail polish and make-up is to be conservative in color and in application.
  • Must possess positive body language, be self-confident, and poised in mannerism.
  • Must greet every guest with a smile and warm welcome and must give a thank you and fond farewell to each departing guest.
  • Must display a passion for helping others.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Must be 18 years of age or older.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED. Money handling and MICROS experience is recommended, as well as computer and calculator skills.

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED Micros computer system, and calculator, laptop with reservation software
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • May be required to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, sit and/or walk for entire shift
  • Must be able to reach, bend, stretch, kneel, crawl, lift and carry
  • Must have good grooming habits and manners

  • Must be able to effectively handle stressful and compromising situations while remaining focused and professional

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Must be able and willing to work in a crowded, loud environment
  • Must be able to handle being under constant surveillance

  • Must be in work time and in proper uniform
  • Must be able to work days, evenings, graveyard, weekends, holiday's etc.

  • Must be able to pass a background investigation and a drug urinalysis as a condition of employment
