Retama Park Racetrack is a class 1 pari-mutuel horse-racing track located in Selma, Texas a short 20 minutes from downtown San Antonio. The property hosts live racing on weekends with quarter horses running from June 7 through August 10 and live thoroughbred racing from October 4 through December 28; open daily for simulcast wagering. Retama Park features a wide variety of dining options including the Turf and Field Dining Room with panoramic views of the track, the Race Book & Sports Bar offering delicious fare enjoyed while watching simulcast racing or your favorite sports team; or more casual options at the concession stands throughout the facility.

The Foodserver greets and interacts with Retama Park guests in a friendly, courteous, responsive and accurate manner; serves food and beverages in accordance with company standards; provides routine support duties to higher level management staff; and performs related tasks within area of assignment.


(These function are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position) Delivers superior internal and external guest service the Pinnacle Way by ensuring every interaction includes our Six Core Service Standards (Look sharp, smile and greet the guest; Be friendly, polite and use courteous language; Provide especially timely and knowledgeable service and then some; Always find solutions to guests' problems; Use the guest's name when appropriate; Thank the guest and invite him or her back.); and work harmoniously with fellow team members. Assumes responsibility for greeting and interacting with our guest in a friendly, courteous, responsive and accurate manner; and serves food and beverages in accordance with company standards. Recognizes guest immediately with a friendly, courteous greeting and information them of daily specials, and soup of the day, etc.; provides information on all aspects of company and property services and facilities. Assists guests with menu and beverage selection(s); demonstrates salesmanship with complete menu and product knowledge. Notifies supervisor, manager or line chef of any food products that are not properly prepares. Ensures guest satisfaction through food quality checks and responds and assists in resolving guest complaints. Maintains a well-groomed, neat and clean appearance, carries out duties with attention to satisfaction, sanitation and safety. Anticipates guest needs. May open and pour wine. Notifies higher level management of any suspicious or unusual activity and/or transactions in a timely manner. Attends and participates in professional group meetings; maintains awareness of new trends and innovations in the field of customer service. Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.


(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis) Two (2) years table or food service experience preferred. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):Must successfully pass background checkMust successfully pass an alcohol and drug screeningMust be eighteen (18) years of ageMust be willing to work weekends, Friday and Saturday nights, and holidays if needed. PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

Knowledge of:Operations, services and activities of a customer service and food service; method and techniques of food sales and deliveries; knowledge of table service procedures and table etiquette; familiarity with food, beverages and wine service; cashiering and denominations of currency; methods of snack bar operations; food safety and rules and regulations; principles and practices of cleaning standards; pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations. Ability to:Takes orders, recites daily specials, points specific items out on menu, stock supplies and bus tables; transport trays and/or plates throughout the outlet, which may weigh up to 20 pounds, as well as serve food items and beverages; stand for eight (8) hours; effectively and efficiently move throughout the outlet and kitchen area; operate a variety of equipment which includes a coffee machine, beverage dispenser, microwave, toaster, and point of service system; receive monies and make change; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; prepare clear and concise reports; interpret and explain policies and procedures; interpret and apply federal, state and local policies, laws and regulations.Posted by StartWire
