JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision provides a lodging experience that meets or exceeds guests' expectations; registers guests and assigns rooms; makes and confirms reservations; presents statements and collects payments; and performs other duties as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (This class specification may not include all the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all the duties that may be performed.)
Greet guests and complete registration process by gathering required guest information and entering it into the computerized registration system; assign room(s) and issue key(s); answer guest questions about services and the surrounding area, making suggestions or recommendations upon request in order to practice the highest standards of guest service.
Establish the form of payment for the accommodation and verify the validity of the payment method (e.g., cash, credit, traveler's checks); post charges, compute final bills and collect payment from guests at the end of their stay in order to ensure smooth, efficient operations.
Serve as initial contact/resource person by responding to calls and visitors; handle complaints and requests for information/assistance personally or forward them appropriately for timely resolution; follow up with the guest to increase guest satisfaction.
Make reservations by entering the required information (taken by telephone or downloaded from the web site) into the electronic reservation system; confirm reservations with guests and record room assignments in order to track room availability..
Identify and report maintenance needs throughout assigned work areas to supervisors; make sure that supplies, materials and equipment are available to complete work assignments and ensure the success of guest service programs.
Respond to guests' questions, using the Quick Reference Guide, providing information about casino gaming promotions, special and other events and/or programs in order to assist guests, advertise marketing campaigns and encourage guest attendance and participation.
Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner to provide information within the area of assignment.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide training and oversight to less experienced staff.
Maintain the appearance of the lobby area by performing clean-up and making coffee as necessary to achieve a neat and welcoming environment.
Fold clean linens and store appropriately for future use.
Perform other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:
Previous full-time experience in a position with regular direct public contact, providing for customer needs, efficiently and effectively exhibiting excellent customer service.
