Job Description:


This position requires a Navy Senior Logistics Analyst to support New Construction and Legacy Navy Surface Ships, Shore Sites, and associated Weapon Systems in support of PEO IWS 1SL. This position requires expertise in Navy Surface Ship logistics, a solid understanding of the Navy Systems Commands/PEO structure and how the acquisition process applies within the Naval Sea Systems Command.


* Conduct business process analysis in support of Navy Modernization and Sustainment activities to ensure efficient and timely support of requirements

* Review detail level requirements for current and future logistics systems and coordinate, manage, and execute development of task planning and associated requirements

* Provide subject matter expertise in support of sustainment and modernization working groups and conferences in areas to include: Sparing, provisioning, RMA, and TDP analysis.

* Provide logistics analysis support for all in-service afloat and shore sites to include afloat logistics information systems analysis

* Develop solutions and provide recommendations for system enhancements and mitigation

* Prepare presentations and conduct briefings with military and civil service personnel as various levels.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 10-12 years of related experience. Minimum of 5 years of Navy Program Office support. Experience may be substituted for education (experience in a combination of Navy, logistics, and Program Office management responsibility).

* Detailed experience with the DoD 5000 Series Instructions and Weapon System Acquisition and sustainment process sithin the Navy/DoD from program inception through disposal.

* Thorough understanding of the new capabilities documents that are required throughout the Acquisition process, requirements for Milestone approval at each decision point, and a familiarity with acquisition, systems engineering, sustainment requirements and associated products that should be utilized within each phase of system development.

* Experience with PEO IWS 1.0 and the Aegis Weapon System or a Weapon/Combat System of similar complexity.

* Extensive experience with the following Product Support Plans and products including, but not limited to: Navy Training System Plans (NTSP), Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSP), Maintenance Plans, and Supply Support Plans.

* Good understanding of the Systems Engineering process as a key component of the acquisition process.

* Proficient in MS Office applications including PowerPoint, EXCEL, and Project.

* Must have 5 - 7 years of related experience in utilizing as many of the following tools as possible: SPS, ERP, Haystack, Fedlog, Logiquest, CDMD-OA, NDE, One-Touch, DoD-email WEBFLIS, TDMIS, ORS, PARTS, and ISO PARTS.

* Must have a current DoD Secret clearance or highter; US Citizenship required

Desired Qualifications

The candidate should have a intimate understanding of the entire PEO IWS organization, the ACAT and non-ACAT programs in each of the 12 Directorates, the existing and planned processes and plans for Acquisition and sustainment.

The ideal candidate would be a former senior Marine Aviation Supply Analyst or Navy Logistics Specialist with extensive experience utilizing RSUPPLY, NALCOMIS, STARS-FL, SABRS, and DPAS.

Intermediate to Expert level experience in utilizing MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word


Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
