Hotel General Manager - Full-Time Best Western Plus Bainbridge Island Suites

Bainbridge Island, WA 98110 Est. Salary $50K - $75K annually. Starting salary negotiable based on experience

We are seeking an exceptional, experienced General Manager with proven leadership, business development, revenue management and operational accumen to lead a team that is motivated to delight guests with welcoming, caring service and skilled in anticipating guests needs and desires.

Located just a short 35 minute ferry ride away from Downtown Seattle, the Best Western Plus Bainbridge Island Suites is the hotel of choice for visitors, families and business travelers visiting Bainbridge Island. This 51 all suites hotel is busy or sold out most weekends and moderately busy during the week.

Job Summary :

Oversees all aspects of the hotel operations, including guest relations, front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, finances, teambuilding, and staff development. Responsible for all phases of hotel management, including sales and marketing, human resources, food and beverage, and budgeting/forecasting. Empowers associates to provide superior customer care to guests, associates, and other visitors. Compensation range determined by assessment of competency towards excelling in the above key responsibilities.

Job Duties :

?? Recruits, selects, trains, and manages hotel staff to deliver superior guest services and quality products that will lead to maximizing revenue and profitability goals. Develops, schedules, disciplines, and counsels staff. Demonstrates positive leadership. characteristics that empower and inspire employees to meet and exceed standards, minimize staff turnover, and retain desirable employees.

?? Creates and maintains customer-driven operations and culture, empowering hotel staff to excel in superior customer care.

?? Ensures that all guest related issues are resolved timely and in a manner consistent with the company's goals and objectives.

?? Provides direction, coordination and leadership for food and beverage, rooms and housekeeping departments at the property. Ensures all applicable standards, policies and procedures are fully implemented in all departments.

?? Ensures a high quality food and beverage experience for the guests.

?? Communicates all policies and procedures to entire staff. Conducts regular meetings to provide various information including company communications, policy reviews, local property activities, goals, etc.

?? Properly documents and administers policies and procedures for protecting the safety of guests and hotel staff.

?? Establishes, implements and manages sound pricing policies for guest services. Develops and implements strategies to enhance profitability and revenue generation.

?? Protects the hotel's financial assets by properly documenting and administering policies and procedures for handling cash, credit cards, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and all other financial transactions.

?? Monitors collection of in-house guest balances and direct bill receivables, commission payments by vendors, and issuance of refunds.

?? Reviews and approves operating expenses. Participates and monitors monthly inventory of supplies and equipment. Ensures purchases made are within budget and by approved vendors

?? Inspects and documents repairs and cleanliness of property to ensure optimum upkeep and repair, room cleanliness and overall property appearance.

?? Protects and enhances the value of all property assets through appropriate programs in maintenance, security, emergency preparedness, housekeeping and capital improvements.

?? Develops, recommends, implements, and administers the hotel's annual budget and long-term business plan which support the overall objectives of the hotel owners. Achieves budgeted sales, maximum profitability, and limits adverse variances.

?? Responsible for maximizing revenues and flow through to Gross Operating Profit (GOP) to meet or exceed budgeted Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA)

?? Prepares or directs the accurate and on-time preparation, production and distribution of all regular and special reports as required by owners.

?? Ensures timely and consistent formal performance reviews of all hotel staff annually and as required. Coordinates internal training and development programs.

?? Actively reviews and monitors revenue management forecasts, daily RevCaster reports and weekly and monthly STR reports to analyze and assess recurring patterns and changes in competitors' pricing. Proactively work with Revenue Manager to provide local market intelligence of potential high demand dates and opportunities to adjust rates to maximize revenues.

?? Actively reviews and monitors Medalia guest reviews, Trip Advisor and the Social Media websites daily to ensure timely and appropriate responses to postings.

?? Analyzes guest feedback and discusses findings with employees. Institutes changes and upgrades in service as necessary.

?? Identifies and seeks out potential business in local market. Maintains relationships with local companies and key people to increase the company's visibility within the local market. Creates new programs in response to market conditions and revenue opportunities.

?? Maintains a high personal visibility throughout the property and throughout the community. Promotes the property by building and maintaining an active and visible position in the local community and with industry partners. Serves as liaison to all community organizations, city officials, industry associations and public relations entities.

?? Adheres to federal, state and local laws employment related laws and regulations.

?? Performs duties in all aspects of hotel operations whenever needed.

?? Leads or assists with special projects at the hotel as directed by the owners.

?? Works a flexible schedule to include weekday, weekends, and holidays and is available after-hours by telephone and email to respond timely to hotel staffing, guest, and emergency situations.

?? Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

?? Bachelor's degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management or Business or equivalent combination of education and experience.

?? Minimum of five years of hotel management or equivalent relevant supervisory experience.

?? Knowledge of local, county, regional and national trends is mandatory with the level of competence having a positive impact on compensation, title and authority.

?? Sense of urgency and responsiveness and ability to effectively adapt to and be an agent of change.

?? Strong leadership and a professional image.

?? Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

?? Thoughtful and well-conceived, fact based decision-making ability and analytical skills and record is desired.

?? Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications.

?? Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.??
